When Eurovision Song Contest Asia takes place in Bangkok on 14 November 2026, Malaysia will be represented by Aina Abdul and her new single Bluest Sky (listen now on YouTube). Her selection was revealed in mid-August. The song itself reached listeners in early October.

Born Nurul Aina Abdul Ghani in Johor Bahru on 25 October 1993, she spent her youth in Seremban, in Negeri Sembilan state. Before she was a household name, she earned her living singing live in nightlife venues. Her breakthrough came in 2014, when she finished second on the television competition Mentor Legend. Radio favourites like Semalam, Sepi and Terus Hidup followed. She favours richly decorated, vivid costumes on stage and always keeps her hair covered in public.

Aina Abdul has received numerous awards for her songs. She has more than 500,000 followers on social media. On 9 October 2026, she posted a video on Instagram for her new song Bluest Sky with the caption: ‚If this is love, then why does it feel so drowning?‘

Abdul wrote Bluest Sky on her own. It is a midtempo ballad in English with big, emotional moments and traditional instrumental touches. Reactions so far are divided: admirers highlight her vocal strength, while critics find the style familiar from decades of Eurovision.
